1930s/40s Handmade Novelty Print Dress
Originally I bought this one for myself. But then health circumstances caused a lot of weight gain and, voilà voilà, I'm passing it on. (Hence, can't model it for you 🥺) I just want her to find a good home!
This charming dress features the most delightful novelty print. Swirling ribbons and bows and springtime bouquets, and then a lady's face peeps out from behind some flowers. I adore the color scheme: purple, raspberry, yellows and greens atop a satiny white background, and trimmed with pretty fuchsia ribbon.
I don't know for sure what the fabric is but I'd guess it's a kind of satin acetate. It's lightweight and flowy and perfect for warmer days.
Babely as she is, she's still a little elderly and not without signs of past lives and loves. I will list her flaws in order of gravity. She currently needs a hook and eye to close up the back. (I was planning to do it but after finger surgery sewing is still a bit of a challenge). The upper ribbon is a bit damaged (the worst part is seen in photo 9). The underarms have light staining (photo 10). There's some kind of dried glue hiding in the ample folds of the skirt (photo 11) - maybe 'twas a repair? And lastly, there are some tiny holes here and there in the skirt (worst of which can be seen in photo 12). So you can see there are issues but the only one that prevents this dress from being immediately wearable and lovely is the lack of a hook and eye.
Since it's homemade there are no labels. I'd say it's a modern XS/S. Be sure to check your upper arm circumference as this particular measurement is on the small side and unforgiving.

How long will it take for my package to arrive?
Orders are typically shipped within 3 business days. If for some reason the delay will be longer, you will be informed. Once it's on its way, it normally takes 3 to 15 business days to arrive, depending on your location.
How is the cost of shipping determined?
The price of shipping in France is determined by the weight and thickness of the package. The heavier it is, the more it costs. If the package is under 3 centimetres it can be considered a "letter" and will be cheaper, but if it's over 4 centimetres it will be considered a package and cost more. I do my very best to stay under 3 cm and keep your shipping cost down but it is not always possible. (I charge the actual cost of shipping plus the percentage of the fees taken by the payment system. I do not take a profit from the shipping cost.)
Will I receive a tracking number?
Every package will come with a tracking number.
How can I see where my package is?
You can enter your tracking number on this site and it will show the status of your package.
