Whimsical Hand Embroidered Cotton Dress

This delightful dress is made of airy white cotton and has the most marvelous embroidery of colorful shapes and creatures.
I'm not sure of its age or provenance but my best guess is late 80s to 90s and possibly Mexican.
It has five buttons on the front of the bodice and a sewn-in sash that can be tied round the front or back.
It's in excellent condition with the exception of a tiny hole in the skirt and I'm pretty sure there's a faint stain somewhere but I couldn't find it again to photograph. So it's not flawless but nearly!
