This one-of-a-kind, repoussé silver pansy locket was made by Dionisio García Gómez, a Madridian silversmith known for his early 20th century work. It was likely created between 1915 and 1934 but a more precise date is difficult to discern.

The symbolism of the pansy is "think of me", as in always having a loved one in your thoughts. The word pansy comes from the French pensée, meaning "to think". Pansies are often seen on gravestones, an example of which can be seen in the last photo which is a grave in the Paris Montmartre Cemetery.

This locket could be used for photos, a lock of hair, or dried flowers, just to name a few suggestions.

It measures 20 × 18 × 5 mm excluding the bail.

I've stitched it onto a piece of dark blue velvet ribbon that I picked up at the Paris flea market. If you like it this way, let me know the circumference of your neck and I'll sew a little hook and eye to fit you. If you'd prefer to take it off the velvet so you can wear it on a chain, that's fine too! 💘

Shipping

How long will it take for my package to arrive?

Orders are typically shipped within 3 business days. If for some reason the delay will be longer, you will be informed. Once it's on its way, it normally takes 3 to 15 business days to arrive, depending on your location.

How is the cost of shipping determined?

The price of shipping in France is determined by the weight and thickness of the package. The heavier it is, the more it costs. If the package is under 3 centimetres it can be considered a "letter" and will be cheaper, but if it's over 4 centimetres it will be considered a package and cost more. I do my very best to stay under 3 cm and keep your shipping cost down but it is not always possible. (I charge the actual cost of shipping plus the percentage of the fees taken by the payment system. I do not take a profit from the shipping cost.)

Will I receive a tracking number?

Every package will come with a tracking number.

How can I see where my package is?

You can enter your tracking number on this site and it will show the status of your package.
