This sublime little locket is gold in color, engraved with a spider on a web, and has two tiny seed pearls making the spider's body. Unfortunately, there is a pearl or stone missing at the top of the web. This detail really does not detract from the charm of this piece, and the pearl/stone could certainly be replaced.

Upon opening the locket, we discover two beautiful photos of a small child. It's hard to guess precisely when these photos were taken but I'd say any time from the early 1900s to the '20s. The last picture shows the back of one of the photographs, placing the studio in Belgium. Of course, the new owner will decide whether they keep these photos or lovingly replace them with others.

The locket is not marked except some mysterious etchings inside, shown in picture 6. I've seen these Roman numeral-style markings in lockets before but frustratingly have no clue what they mean.

It measures 3 cm in diameter, excluding the bail and the jump ring.

Apart from the missing element in the web, this piece is in overall good condition.

The locket does not come with a chain. (And in picture 4 I have it shown hooked onto a Victorian snake brooch to display versatility of wear but this listing is for the locket only. The snake is available in another listing.)

Shipping

How long will it take for my package to arrive?

Orders are typically shipped within 3 business days. If for some reason the delay will be longer, you will be informed. Once it's on its way, it normally takes 3 to 15 business days to arrive, depending on your location.

How is the cost of shipping determined?

The price of shipping in France is determined by the weight and thickness of the package. The heavier it is, the more it costs. If the package is under 3 centimetres it can be considered a "letter" and will be cheaper, but if it's over 4 centimetres it will be considered a package and cost more. I do my very best to stay under 3 cm and keep your shipping cost down but it is not always possible. (I charge the actual cost of shipping plus the percentage of the fees taken by the payment system. I do not take a profit from the shipping cost.)

Will I receive a tracking number?

Every package will come with a tracking number.

How can I see where my package is?

You can enter your tracking number on this site and it will show the status of your package.
