Before finding this jar, I had no idea what "Salt of Wisdom" was. It seems there's a lot of religious and alchemical significance that I thought was quite interesting! Here's what I found:

"Alembroth, also known as the "salt of wisdom", is a Chaldean word used by Alchemists to signify the key to the art, i.e., the chemical art. This key allows the Chemist to enter into the transmutation, and it opens the bodies so that they are suitable for forming the Philosopher's Stone. Whoever knows what this key is, will know the great work. There are those who say that this key is the salt of mercury.

Alembroth also means a melting salt; and because the most melting salts are alkalis, alembroth is an alkali salt that is used to melt metals.

In this sense alembroth has been used to signify a natural alkali salt found in Cyprus; and it appears that this salt is a type of borax, or that borax could be made from it."

Also:

"During the baptism ceremony, the Church wanted the future baptized person to receive a little salt on the tongue, before receiving the water that will purify them.
Why salt? God wanted each of his visible creatures to be the reflection of an invisible reality, the reflection of a divine perfection that gives itself to us. This is why the Church has introduced so many material elements into the Liturgy: water, fire, incense, stone, etc. It is thus the whole created universe that comes to gravitate around its Creator, taking its place in the perfect worship that Christ addresses to his Father through his Church.

Salt has two meanings.

The first is given to us in the priest's exorcism prayer over salt: "I exorcise you, salt, inanimate creature, so that in the Name of the Holy Trinity you may become a sign of salvation that puts our enemy to flight." As salt preserves food and prevents it from corrupting, it figures the grace that will free us from the devil and prevent our soul from being corrupted by error or sin. So protection against the devil, preservation in the Faith and the purity of the baptism.

Second meaning of salt: wisdom. After having exorcised it, the priest puts it on the child's mouth saying: "Receive the salt of wisdom, that it may be a help to you for eternal life. Wisdom, sapientia in Latin, comes from sapere, which means to taste, to savor. After having purified us, God who comes to live in us will make us capable of savoring Him, of tasting the flavor of his Being who gives himself to us. Wisdom is a Person, it is the Word, Christ. And Christ burns to give Himself to us, to give Himself to eat, to be the life of our soul and to draw us into the mystery of love of the most holy Trinity, where without end the Father gives Himself to Him and He gives Himself to the Father, in a "breath of love" which is the Holy Spirit. Jesus wants us to hunger for Him, because He hungers to give Himself to our souls, so that we may become one with Him, and in Him we may receive this infinite love of the Father. That is why the last prayer of the imposition of salt leads quite naturally to the mystery of the Eucharist: "God of our fathers, do not let your servant, after tasting this first salt, suffer hunger any longer: let him be satisfied with heavenly food."

Consider my mind blown.

The image depicts a snake wrapped around a jar, reminiscent of the rod of Asclepius, the god of healing. Below it is a banner reading, "Sel de la Sagesse". It is framed by some beautiful yellow flowers that look a bit like a variety of nightshade, a mystical plant associated with healing and spiritual expansion in witchcraft.

While it is an old design, I believe this jar to be from the 1970s. Written "offert par Tupperware", I think it was meant as a gift when you made a Tupperware purchase!

It is in perfect condition and it measures:

8 in / 20 cm tall with the lid

5.5 in / 14 cm tall without the lid

3.75 in / 9.5 cm diameter

Shipping

How long will it take for my package to arrive?

Orders are typically shipped within 3 business days. If for some reason the delay will be longer, you will be informed. Once it's on its way, it normally takes 3 to 15 business days to arrive, depending on your location.

How is the cost of shipping determined?

The price of shipping in France is determined by the weight and thickness of the package. The heavier it is, the more it costs. If the package is under 3 centimetres it can be considered a "letter" and will be cheaper, but if it's over 4 centimetres it will be considered a package and cost more. I do my very best to stay under 3 cm and keep your shipping cost down but it is not always possible. (I charge the actual cost of shipping plus the percentage of the fees taken by the payment system. I do not take a profit from the shipping cost.)

Will I receive a tracking number?

Every package will come with a tracking number.

How can I see where my package is?

You can enter your tracking number on this site and it will show the status of your package.
