Victorian Gold Filled Snake Brooch

This elegant brooch was made by the French Fix company, which was founded in 1829 creating high quality gold filled jewelry. It tests as 14K, likely bonded over brass. It has a ruby red paste stone on the snake's crown, a C-clasp and a T-bar hinge, and a loop under the head which was probably intended to hold a watch. You can see in the last photo that I've suspended a locket from it as an example of how it could be used.
It is stamped FIX, as well as hallmarked but I can't make it out. It's in excellent condition, especially considering its years, but one can see that it has lived and been loved.
It measures 3 x 2 cm.

How long will it take for my package to arrive?
Orders are typically shipped within 3 business days. If for some reason the delay will be longer, you will be informed. Once it's on its way, it normally takes 3 to 15 business days to arrive, depending on your location.
How is the cost of shipping determined?
The price of shipping in France is determined by the weight and thickness of the package. The heavier it is, the more it costs. If the package is under 3 centimetres it can be considered a "letter" and will be cheaper, but if it's over 4 centimetres it will be considered a package and cost more. I do my very best to stay under 3 cm and keep your shipping cost down but it is not always possible. (I charge the actual cost of shipping plus the percentage of the fees taken by the payment system. I do not take a profit from the shipping cost.)
